A Lecture with Ruth Lauer-Manenti at Yoga Shanti in the Hamptons

Anusara Open Level Class & Advanced Practice Class with Ross Rayburn
A 2 Day Yoga Workshop Co-Hosted by Yoga Shanti and One Ocean Yoga
Ross Rayburn is a Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher based in New York. Formerly the owner of Yogainsideout in Los Angeles, Ross now travels internationally teaching some of the most fun and inspiring yoga classes around. Ross started teaching in 1999 and was certified by John Friend in 2003. His classes are known for their clarity in the principles of Anusara woven into a challenging class that seeks to connect all levels of students to their highest potential.
"In Anusara Yoga, one of the most fundamental methods is to align with grand, universal forces as the foundation for our lives. We all seek truth, wisdom and freedom; and we do so with greater ease when our efforts are in tune with these essential forces. As a yogic strategy, we cultivate an awareness of how these energies flow and play out in our lives. By intuiting and learning how these forces organize themselves we’re able to navigate the undulations of life with greater aplomb. One such fundamental energy construction is the paradigm of three. Triads are essentially omnipresent. Whether it’s the triad of the great religious tradi- tions, the audible sounds of the sacred Om or simply the elements of each breath; the wave-like creation, refinement and dissolving is with us in every moment of every day. Thus, recognizing them and their wave-like properties is not only efficacious, but can be truly and magically transformative. Join me on this Triadic Adventure and Ride the Wave!" ~ Ross Rayburn.

Intro to Gods and Goddesses: Invoke the Light in your Life!
A Workshop with Manorama at Yoga Shanti in the Hamptons, NY
Immerse yourself in the sacred chants, stories, and symbolism of Hindu gods and goddesses, and learn to manifest the divine in your own life. Guided by Manorama, director of the School of Sanskrit Studies, you will delight in the power of silence and the divine vibration of Sanskrit, and discover how to transform your consciousness. Together, we will practice silent conscious listening and open our heart to the power of pure shakti. We will chant Sanskrit mantras and invoke the sacred vibrations of select gods and goddesses.
We will learn about the symbolism of select gods and goddesses, such as the significance of their instruments, why they have so many arms, and how the elephant god Ganesha rides on a mouse. We also discover how Hindu gods and goddesses represent different aspects of our own nature, and how they are contextualized into the teachings of yoga. As we invoke Hindu gods and goddesses in our practice together, we are lead to experience worthiness, peace, joy, authenticity of voice, and balance in our daily life.

Soul Sandwich & "Hip"pie Love!
2 Yoga Workshops for all Levels of Student with Mitchel & Tracy Bleier
Mitchel Bleier: Mitchel Bleier, internationally recognized yoga teacher is the epitome of a modern yoga master. He is known for his immense knowledge on all yoga topics, especially asana, philosophy, therapeutics, and adjustments. He teaches with passion and offers a kind, generous, humorous, easy, and sophisticated approach. Mitchel’s classes are an inspiring vinyasa flow incorporating clear alignment direction, deep breathing, and a playful narrative of Indian philosophy and myth that is easily applied to everyday life.
Tracy Bleier: Tracy Bleier is co-owner and co-creator of Saraswati’s Yoga Joint in Norwalk, Connecticut. Her 10 year yoga practice has led her to many luminary teachers in the yoga industry and many exotic places in the world -- but when she discovered the intelligence, and power behind MB yoga, (the yoga founded by her husband, Mitchel Bleier) she knew she was home (metaphorically and literally). Her studies with Mitchel over the last 3 plus years has helped her develop a teaching style that she likes to call, “intelligent vinyasa” which integrates the breath based rhythm and flow of her former practice of Ashtanga yoga, with the healthy precision and therapeutic benefits of solid alignment. Tracy loves to create classes that possess a rich narrative fabric of thoughts and feelings throughout a challenging mix of asanas.
Soul Sandwich: Twists & Inversions, Meditation, Asana & Pranayama
Have you ever wanted to take a big, delicious, yummy bite out of your soul? You know to taste it so fully - everything you are, everything you've got. Now's your chance cause yoga is so much more than bending or strengthening your body. It's learning to bend your breath and to engage your mind. It's learning to see that life taste delicious, and yeah that's your soul. This class is one part meditation and one part pranayama (those totally transforming breathing exercises), and that's the bread for the super duper asanas, in this case inversions and twists make up the center, but don't worry their will be plenty of condiments and dressings to make this sandwich complete. If you've never tasted your soul then this sandwich will change you're eating habits for sure! All levels Welcome!

Tuition: $50 in advance or $60 drop in.

"Hip"pie Love
In Sanskrit, "sukha" means easy or content. And that's exactly what we love about this workshop - it's easy on the joints and the long, deep holds make for very happy hamstrings and hips. These far out forward bends and hip openers are groovy poses to sink into - especially if you're parked at your desk (or beach) all day. You'll be breathing your way into different postures and holding them for a while - kind of like giving yourself and your practice a big, fat hug! So if a little bit of self-love is on your radar, then it's high time you hit up this deeply opening, somewhat psychedelic workshop. Give yourself some "Hip"pie Love! All levels Welcome!

A Weekend of Yoga With Colleen & Rodney
A Continuing Education Weekend at the Omega Institure, Rhinebeck, NY
Masculine energy is typified as being more gross, while feminine energy is typified as more subtle. In this workshop, we move from vinyasa (linking movement with breath) to integrated alignment; from chanting to silence; from pranayama (breath exercises) to pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses toward the self); and from philosophy to meditation, creating a profound experience of movement from the gross to the subtle.

Open Level Yoga Class with Live Music!
Taught by Jennifer Frasher with Music by Steve Eaton in Yoga Shanti Lakshmi!
Jennifer Frasher and Steve Eaton are delighted to bring you a unique yogic experience, every Friday evening at 5:30pm for an open level yoga class accompanied by live music.
"We are truly blessed out here to have a large array of outstanding Yoga teachers. Among this basket of jewels is a very bright, gleaming gem... Jennifer Frasher. Her Friday night class at Yoga Shanti is the best way to unwind after a bustling work week. (For me, only a "date" with my grandkids takes priority over attending this class.)
You know what you are in for the moment you enter the Yoga room. The atmosphere is tranquil, low-lit and welcoming. In the middle of the room sits Jennifer's partner, Steve - a gifted musician - surrounded by instruments, quietly playing at least one of them to soothe the soul. You've entered another realm. Automatically the "before" and " after" remain outside - EXHALE.
For an hour and a half expect to be in the hands of two professionals. You won't be disappointed. Jen is a highly imaginative teacher, both challenging and accommodating to her students. Her instruction is crystal clear as she leads us through her inventive scheme of practice for the day. The variations are endless from week to week. She never repeats herself. Each pose feels effortless under her guidance and gentle adjustments. Careful attention is paid to both the energy of the group as a whole and to the focus on each individual. Time Flies !
You will emerge from the practice into the outside world calmer, affirmed , enlightened and educated in the Path of Yoga. It truly IS meditation in motion.
"T.G.I.F" takes on new meaning when it's time to go to Jennifer's class at Yoga Shanti on Friday!"
