In this class we will explore how to link yoga postures into intelligent chains so that within each pose we can find the subtle internal alignment that reveals the contemplative core of the practice. Working deeply we will use the rhythms of the internal breath and the back and forth action and counter-action of Vinyasa to focus on the natural rhythms that support an integrated, fluid form of movement; the prana-apana, effort-release, male-female actions that give freedom to the practice. Finding this exquisite detail and meditative alignment makes Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga really work right from the very beginning. The form is energetic and integrated, challenging yet deeply meditative and subtle. Drawing poses from the classic series, the class will be for everyone from the beginner to the connoisseur of energy.

You will also receive a copy of Richard’s & Mary’s new book: The Art of Vinyasa: Awakening Body & Mind Through the Practice of Ashtanga Yoga.

Richard & Mary will be available for a book-signing immediately following the class.
