A teacher of teachers, Kari is on the faculty of Yoga Shanti’s 200-Hour, 300-Hour and Advanced Teacher Trainings, playfully focusing on helping students and teachers achieve precise anatomical alignment. She believes in the body’s innate intelligence and motivates her students to realize and foster a sense of body awareness and healing through yoga, nutrition, and healthy living.
Kari holds multiple yoga certifications in different styles of yoga and is a Master Trainer of Urban Zen’s Integrative Therapy program. Since 2004,
she has been studying exclusively with Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee for whom she now assists in their workshops and trainings around the world.
In 2004, Kari founded the East Yoga Center studio in New York’s East Village, where she famously merged her passion for yoga and dogs with a monthly “Doga” class. This led to features in publications including The New York Times, Yoga Journal, The Wall St. Journal, appearances on The Martha Stewart Show, ABC News, Dr. Oz, and Fox & Friends, and her own TV Show, K9 Karma, on Discovery’s Animal Planet.
Today, Kari lives in the mountains of Great Barrington, MA with her husband and their three children. She splits teaching time between the Berkshires, New York City, and the Hamptons.
