Katherine has a multicultural heritage. She grew up and was educated both in the US and in Europe and has travelled extensively all over the world, to the Americas, Europe and Asia. She learned to appreciate and love her multiple and diverse travel and living opportunities which have led her to the realization that we are all connected on a basic human level. Her desire for mindful and compassionate living in a chaotic world was the basic impulse that has brought her to the practice of yoga.
Katherine’s classes are challenging and creative, with playful exploration and deconstruction of poses, intelligent alignment and sequencing, mindful flow and music. Sweaty and sweet!
She is a Yoga and a Pilates instructor for Hospital for Special Surgery’s Public and Patient Education Division,she also teaches for YogaWorks in NYC, One Ocean Yoga in Bridgehampton and most recently she is delighted to have become a part of the yoga community at YogaShanti in Sag Harbor with her beloved teachers Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman.
Katherine has over 17 years experience teaching in NYC and The Hamptons. She has a BFA in Dance from SUNY-Purchase. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 and a YACEP (Yoga alliance continuing education provider). Multiple trainings include 500 hours ISHTAYOGA , 200 hrs YogaWorks and two 100 hour advanced Yoga Shanti trainings. She recently participated as a mentor for a Yoga Shanti 200-hour training. Katherine is a senior yoga and Master Pilates Instructor for YogaWorks.
