Born and raised in Beijing, China, Darlene always treasured the oriental culture and philosophy, but was also actively seeking changes to broaden her horizon. She jumped at the opportunity to receive full college scholarship and moved to Hong Kong, where she graduated first class honors in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and started her career in finance since then.
Darlene has been in the institutional wealth management industry for over eight years, most recently as Vice President at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan, where she provides client coverage in capital markets trading, private direct investment, and various customized financing solutions. She is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
But nothing in life has inspired more curiosity and inquiry than yoga for Darlene. She dedicated significantly more time to her practice after she completed the Yoga Shanti NYC’s 200 hour teaching training in spring 2016, and continued to deepen her understanding of body and mind coordination as she started teaching immediately. Darlene is forever grateful to her teachers Joyce Englander Levy, Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee for their confidence in her and motivation along the way.
You can expect her to bring the reflection of her own practice to class, with a mixture of theme-based sequence, evolving discoveries in alignment points and philosophical talks relating to the ups and downs of life.
