With Peggy Leder
Location: Sag Harbor
Level: Open (all students welcome)
Come join Peggy Leder for a fun-filled, creative afternoon making your own personal mandala! “Mandala” from the Sanskrit word meaning “circle” and, by extension, a “world,” is a symbolic circle often used in Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Visualizing the world created in the “mandala” with all its color and detail becomes a powerful and finely-tuned meditation practice. Creating a mandala can be seen as hypnotic, relaxing, letting the creative part of the mind run free while the analytical mind takes a nap. That said, this meditative practice can lead to gaining self-knowledge. You will create your own beautiful mandala in the medium of your choice – either water color or colored pencil. No artistic talent is required. Light refreshments will be served.
Peggy Leder is a registered clinical art therapist and art teacher, holding her Master’s degree from CW Post, LI University and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont.
