Movement & Meditation
With Quinn Kearney
Location: New York City
Level: Open (all students welcome)
Cost: $55 (10% discount for members)
This multidimensional workshop with Quinn Kearney is an opportunity to plant seeds for growth and healing on all levels. The physical aspect of the three hour class will include a balanced, flowing vinyasa practice with a focus on sun salutations and handstands. The intellectual part of the workshop will involve a brief discussion on the entire history of yoga and how it relates to the modern yoga world, and there will be a subtle introduction to and experience of seated meditation.
Quinn Kearney discovered yoga in 1990. His practice has been influenced by years of study in the Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga lineages and their offshoots, as well as other functional movement modalities and various martial art forms. The teachings he offers are rooted in these traditional and modern influences. Students find his teaching inspirational, supportive, non-dogmatic and constantly evolving. Quinn enjoys creating spaces for people to grow and become increasingly healthy. A drummer, he weaves his love of music into the practice by creating unique musical backdrops for his classes. Quinn has and continues to study with many senior teachers all over the world, but his principal teachers at this point are the students and instructors he works with at yogaview in Chicago, which he co-owns and directs.
